(Conversation / mini project) Teaching a skill

Mini Project: Teaching a skill

Task:

You are going to stand in front of the class / your group and teach the students a skill.

Outcome:

At the end, the students should be able to do whatever it is that you are teaching them.

Language focus:

You need to use imperatives and sequencing language.

Materials:

You can use the whiteboard and pens, pieces of paper etc. But keep it simple.

The students will vote for the best teacher at the end, based on how clear the explanation was, how fun it was, and if they honestly think that they can do that thing now.

Ideas for a skill are:

  • Origami
  • Your country’s dance (students have to get up and do this with you)
  • A song
  • Difficult hairstyles
  • A recipe
  • Pronunciation
  • How to flirt
  • The perfect press-up
  • A different language
  • A magic trick
  • A secret handshake

But you can do anything that you want.
