B2.2 Unit 3: The Brain


Overall aims for the week
Increase range and confidence in speaking about the mind and its workings.
Increase speculative range using helpful vocab and grammar, particularly in discussing aspects of the mind and theories about it.




Can-do statements/sub-aims
By the end of this week students will be able to…

Use modals more consciously, more often, more accurately. 
Summarise and respond to theoretical arguments about the mind and the brain. 
Use modals to express deductive and speculative reasoning.

Comprehending complex factual information as well as grasping complex opinions based on that information.


Speaking:
Conveying the specific meaning of complex concept words through synonyms etc
